MISSION

Serve as the space that will bring together multiple stakeholders needed for the development of sustainable landscapes in Karakalpakstan, supporting a business environment development through specific actions that will have a direct impact on the region’s socio-economic development.

The platform provides the needed information for conducting business in the agriculture and environmental sectors in the Aral Sea region, as well as to support day-to-day operations by learning and accessing advisory services, networking, and insightful ideas.

The Business Development Platform has been developed under the 'Green Rehabilitation Investment Project for Karakalpakstan Republic to address impacts of the Ara Sea Crisis' funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and co-funded and implemented by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI).

OBJECTIVES

The Business Development Platform has been developed under the 'Green Rehabilitation Investment Project for Karakalpakstan Republic to address impacts of the Ara Sea Crisis' funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and co-funded and implemented by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI).

 

Objective 1 – Policy and Regulatory Framework – Contribute to the development of the policy and regulatory framework for the agriculture and environmental sectors in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

Objective 2 – Human Talent – Support the development and improvement of the human talent in the agriculture and environmental sectors in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

Objective 3 – Culture – Promote a culture that values the roll of the entrepreneur for the growth of the society, as well as the entrepreneurial and innovative talent of people involved in the agriculture and environmental sectors in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

Objective 4 – Innovation – Push for the adoption of innovative solutions in the agriculture and environmental sectors in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, emphasizing adaptive and sustainable actions.

Objective 5 – Financing – Support the accessibility of people involved in the agriculture and environmental sectors in the Republic of Karakalpakstan to financing options for business development.

Objective 6 – Market – Promote the development of sustainable and transparent markets in the Republic of Karakalpakstan as well as the accessibility to more competitive national and international markets.

Objective 7 – Advisory and Technical Support – Support the development of sustainable, responsible and adaptive business plans for the agriculture and environmental sectors in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

The Business Development Platform is part of KOICA's and GGGI’s project strategy to support the development of the business environment for the agriculture and environmental sectors in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

Consort Logo

Consort Group is an IT and consulting team working on projects and products that coincides with sustainable development goals. It develops platforms that enables knowledge dissemination, digitization and inclusion of local communities to national and international value chain.

The Ministry Of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan (MEEPCC) is the government body in charge of the administration of the ecology field, environmental protection, and the rational use of natural resources in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Under this mandate and as key partner of GGGI for the implementation of the ‘Green Rehabilitation Investment Project for Karakalpakstan Republic to address impacts of the Aral Sea Crisis’, the Ministry aims to support an environmentally responsible business environment development in the Aral Sea Region, while promoting resilience and adaptation to climate change and environmental hazards.

The project Ecologically Oriented Regional Development of the Aral Sea Region (ECO ARAL) commissioned by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH supports the economic development of the Aral Sea region considering ecological sustainability.

ECO ARAL supports the Business Development Platform (BDP) by providing and sharing knowledge in form of cross-sectoral consulting and information packages on ecological sustainable resource use. Furthermore, ECO ARAL provides capacity building to agricultural extension services in the Aral Sea Region which promote their quality services on the Business Development Platform. ECO ARAL additionally acts as facilitator between the BDP and agricultural and environmental knowledge multiplicators to ensure evidence-based advice and information.

German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation (DSIK) is working in Uzbekistan on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) to strengthen the agribusiness sector and to promote rural development. DSIK Uzbekistan assists young people in running their own agribusiness by offering them financial and entrepreneurial education.

The Business Development Platform (BDP) is a great opportunity for DSIK to provide all essential information about the financial products available for the agricultural sector in Uzbekistan and especially in the Aral Sea region. The knowledge is summarized in an easy way and is accessible for everyone. In addition, DSIK promotes its “Business Plan Seminars” and the corresponding access to additional international funding through the BDP. The aim of DSIK on the BDP is to connect start-ups and existing small agribusinesses with local banks through capacity building and the provision of financial and entrepreneurial knowledge.
